Murder by Death
You hear that a band is called Murder by Death and you expect lots of noise and a vocalist who barks, but not so. These guys have become more than a little bit successful with their indie-alt-folk thing, a sensibility that seems to be very “in” right now, thanks to bands like Mumford & Sons. The band’s debut album was called Like the Exorcist, but With More Breakdancing, which is awesome if you want to see Linda Blair spin on her head while her head is spinning. They’ve released a bunch more since then, and all have that gothic twang reminiscent of Nick Cave, thanks to the use of electric cello. Should be cool.
