Pewter Cub Album Release
The members of Pewter Cub thought for sure they’d broken up — until Metro Times called them back with an invitation to the Blowout. Four years ago, Scott Sanford and Regan Lorie took a chance and applied with some early demos, and now, looking back, they’re certain that Blowout saved their band. What also saved their band was junking their drum machine and fleshing out their shoegaze-leaning indie-pop jams with a human drummer (Dave Jennings) in time to record their debut album. A few years and a few Blowouts later, Pewter Cub marks another and more inspired turning point with the release of its sublime sophomore LP If You Can Hold Your Breath, on local label Bellyache Records. Once-infamous post-punk quartet Black Lodge is tentatively reuniting for the event, along with dance-rock quintet Pink Lightning.
