Lady Gaga with Madeon and Lady Starlight
You can love or loathe Lady Gaga, with her meat suits and annoyingly catchy pop tunes. You can hate for the fact that millions of other people love her and, worse, that they are the sort of people who don’t really like music, or at least properly understand it, and just like to sing along to her songs when they come on the car radio. You may detest her for these reasons, but you cannot deny the impact that this young girl has had on the pop industry on her own terms. In a world of Identi-Kit, sanitized pop Barbies, a strong female role model who tells kids that it’s OK to be who they are is most welcome. She will undoubtedly bring a big show to the Palace, and her good friend Lady Starlight is playing the Shelter later that night.
