Workspace launch
Perhaps a traditional approach to public relations, (i.e. one client, one band, one catchy message,) is just too narrow for such an active scene as Detroit. Workspace PR (WSPR), bolstered by a quartet of current and former musicians who’ve paid their dues “in the scene” and on tours, hopes to cast a wide net of awareness, promoting the kind of details about this area that people need to know. Beyond bands (like hip-hop duo Passalacqua or post-metal quintet Child Bite), WSPR aspires to promoting artists, events, products while breaking away from the limited “client” based approach. Their focus is inherently broad and they want to bridge gaps, electro-to-punk, craft shows to dance parties. Saturday’s concert, featuring Bars of Gold, Phantom Cats, Silent Lions and Nice Hooves is meant to be a showcase of the exciting progressive mindset that WSPR hopes to celebrate in its first year.
