LA Guns

This is fascinating, because usually when the ’80s hair metal bands hit Detroit they play Harpos, iRock, the Token Lounge or somewhere like that — an accepted island, a mecca for those on the metal nostalgia hunt. L.A. Guns might be the least “cool” band on the planet, so for them to be playing a venue like Small’s makes for an interesting dichotomy. Will the suburban hair metal guys show up, and will the Hamtramck hipsters take to Phil Lewis singing the “Ballad of Jane”? Who knows, but we’ll have fun finding out. Even without Tracii Guns, the L.A. Guns can put on a show. Six Months Gone, HazardHead and the Blastronauts support.
