Doop and the Inside Outlaws
In last November’s music issue, we talked with Don “Doop” Duprie about the group of musicians that has gelled into the Inside Outlaw Songwriting Collective. He said those artists who fall under that umbrella “can go out on their own and create music under their own name, but also can come back whenever they want to their artistic home and collaborate with their fellow Inside Outlaws.” Now, the collective has something physical to show for it: a full-length record, with sounds recorded live last year at UDetroit Café, including Doop & the Inside Outlaws, After Dark Amusement Park, Alison Lewis. Those artists, as well as the Ryan Dillaha Band, Pat V & the Detroit 3, and Matt D’mits, will all appear at the record’s release party, where 250 copies of the actual record will be for sale.
