Hand in the Ocean and Match by Match

Match by Match are making a career out of intertwined harmonies and heart-on-your-sleeve sincerity, the results of which are an idiosyncratic, triumphant sound that is a joyful celebration of the now. Peppered with references to the jangly guitar-pop of the 90s, as well as classical and folk. The Hand in the Ocean is a group of three musicians out of Detroit, Michigan, who play their own unique take on folk music. Taking influences from all genres of music, their 'folk' label adheres more to the instruments they play rather than the sound they produce.  A mixture of crisp harmonies, racing banjo, and dynamic guitar makes for a barrage of different songs.
