Here’s a bit of delightful coincidence. Earlier this year we got to see a read-through of The Troublemakers: Frida and Diego in Detroit, Louis Aguilar’s play-in-progress about Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera and the story of the Rivera murals at the Detroit Institute of Arts. In the firecracker role of Frida was Valeria Montes, who’s back below those very murals in her more familiar role as Detroit’s leading flamenco performer. “Beauty in motion” is the way we’ve described her dance work in the past.
