Works on Paper features the paper-centric works of local artists Corrie Baldauf, Yoriko Cronin, Christina Galasso and Kyle Miller. While all the artworks included in the exhibit make use of paper as a primary resource, the display includes different mediums – including drawings, collages and paper objects – as well as the distinct styles and perspectives of the artists, from the Kresge Fellow Balduaf’s drawing, described by the artists as the “visual manifestations of the experiences that seduce us to be alert and alive,” to Miller’s colorful collages that juxtapose contrasting images from magazines, the Internet and books. Works on Paper opens with a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. at Paint Creek Center for the Arts, 407 Pine St., Rochester; 248-651-4110; displays through May 25. The opening is part of the Downtown Rochester Spring Gallery Stroll featuring art and special events at 11 locations.
