This event will celebrate Cage’s continuing resonance at Cranbrook with a lecture and special musical performance of "Sounds of Venice" (1959) which is featured in the exhibition.With Shelley Selim and Special Guest Performer.

Carolee Schneemann is a multidisciplinary artist that transformed artistic discourse on the body, sexuality, and gender. Her current exhibition, My Brain Is in My Inkstand: Drawing as Thinking and Process, exhibits for the first time fourteen sketches of Schneemann’s earliest and most iconic performance, Meat Joy.
The class objective is to give listeners a deeper appreciation of music in general by listening to and discussing its historical, cultural, compositional, and aesthetic elements.
